All lawyers have their own style. For Jill, this means advocating strongly for her clients while always being fair and reasonable in efforts to bring stressful, costly disputes to an acceptable resolution. She understands that behind every dispute or case in court is a real business and real people. The costs of legal matters have to make sense for your goals – Jill gets that. Her long-term relationships with other lawyers make it possible to negotiate matters based on mutual respect and trust.

But sometimes, disputes cannot be avoided. In those instances, Jill goes to bat for her clients all the way to trial. She’s handled dozens of civil and criminal trials, and she’s not afraid to be a fighter her clients. Her experience gives her a range of tools to find common ground, but is prepared for conflict when necessary.

Sometimes your lawyer needs to tell you things you don’t want to hear – that’s good counsel. Her NY East Coast roots make her comfortable with that candor. At the same time, she understand this is a very hard time for her clients. She’s there to explain the proceedings, options and listen to their concerns to help guide them to make the best decisions for their families.

Jill’s legal education at a top ten law school combined with distinguished city firm experience provided her with world-class legal training.  The high expectations in those demanding environments prepared her to be a leader from the start of her legal career in Aspen.  Experience at a local smaller firm prepared Jill for hands-on work with high stakes matters and gave her an understanding of how to effectively represent clients through a boutique firm practice, while offering the service level associated with a global firm.

Jill (Teehan) Edinger has been practicing law since her graduation from Georgetown University Law School in Washington, DC (summa cum laude) in 2008. She began her career with a preeminent Wall Street firm in New York City. In 2011, she traded the subway for the slopes. Jill brought her experience to the Roaring Fork Valley when she was recruited by a foremost civil litigation firm in Aspen. She's been a practicing attorney in the Roaring Fork Valley since 2011. She enjoys skiing, golf (poorly) and hosting parties when she's not lawyering.
